I think of you
in the trenches
wondering how it may differ to now
we may not be in a foxhole
though we are still the same
fighting for freedoms
sacrificing our lives for those back at home
some may not return
but certainly not forgotten
in silence we sit
honoring and remembering
those who did not return to us
